When one clicks on buy me a coffee on your page, there's no link to click on. And thank you for your post. It is sooo good. Wanted to restack it but there seems to be a sharing/coding error at the moment. XO
Thank you so much Adeyoola for finding this so worthwhile. I appreciate you taking time with my words and that they have sparked some reflections of your own. All the best 🤎
"Wanting to be attended to" "being seen" This resonated so strongly for me. I was having a similar conversation with a friend the other day. I didn't then see the significance of this for my writing.
I've fallen into that protection mechanism of saying, 'I don't care if no one reads my work.' And in a way this is true, as I do write anyway in my personal journal for my own healing, BUT clearly I wouldn't be sharing it here if I didn't now want to be read.
I want my words to have an impact on others! I long to be paid attention to! It boils down to what you alluded to and Andy Nwannem wrote of: connection.
You have inspired a heap of thought, processing and healing and I am truly grateful. I can't possibly share it all in a note (the deshaming, the decolonisation of the phrase 'wanting attention', the processing of this new healthier, more honest perspective, etc) but this will transform things for me, I feel it. Thank you 🙏🏽
Yen, I'm so grateful for this comment. It is so special to read. Thank you for sharing with me so elaborately what reading this has meant for you and the profound shift it has stirred in you and for you. I'm so elated!
I'm so happy that you caught the heart of my words and you allowed them to reach you in the precise and exact way that I had hoped it reaches someone.
I can't wait to hear the person you become on the other side of this transformation for you.
I've decided to begin reworking through The Artist's Way again and even though I'm only through the first chapter this time around, it has me asking some of the same questions you do in the reflection prompts. Trying to undo this fear of being seen is so hard, but necessary in order for what I want.
Also, I read that piece from andy a couple of days ago and sooo good!
I appreciate your heartfelt comments so much! Thank you so much for always taking in my work and engaging with it.
And speaking of AW! You know a friend gifted me with it about 5 years ago but I only managed to get through the first week and I ditched it. And since coming on to this platform just a few months ago, I see it being mentioned every other week. So I know that’s a sign for me. So I may join you too soon.
But please be kind and patient with yourself. Things that are tangled up with a lot of history and generational patterns are bound to be difficult to undo. So well done on that step!
Right? andy definitely did so much justice in that reflection.

Craving for attention is not a shameful thing. I love attention! Ouuuuuuuu!😌❤️
Thank you so much Hosanna for such a beautiful and affirming comment 🤎
Over and above all, gratitude for delicately and exquisitely articulating such a tough thing to say out loud.
I love the vulnerability in this. Very raw
Thank you so much Esther for taking the time to read and the appreciation for my words, much appreciated 🙏🏾

Wow, what what a wonderful reflection. Speaks a truth on many levels. Much for me reflect on, process and reimagine my own writing journey. Thank you.

Exactly! Thank you so much Sarina for taking the time to read and commenting 🙏🏾
I loved listening to your audio
Beautiful reflection, Katz, and it's making me think about reframing how I think about attention, especially creatively.
Thank you so much Ashleigh for taking the time to read, appreciate you so much!
And please let me know what you come out with in your reflecting and reframing 🤎
